The Benefits of Taking A Walk Outside

While the nicer weather approaches, it’s a perfect time to exercise outside such as playing a sport, walking, or other fun activities outside. It’s hard if you first begin a new activity or a new exercise routine. The easiest way to include a new exercise routine is to start walking.

Studies shown that 

“Walking is a simple way to exercise because it's a low-impact activity that doesn't require special equipment or skills, making it accessible to most people and easy to incorporate into daily routines.” [1] 

 

Ways to incomplete walking outside for the first time:

  • Complete a warm-up exercises such as the following:

  • Start small: Start with 20 minutes until you build confidence then increase your minutes.

  • Set realistic goals: Don’t overextend your exercise.

  • Make it entirement: Remember to switch up your routine and listen to music or podcasts.

  •  Consider a motivation tool: journal of your own positive experience walking goal reaching, benefits of your walk, & fun experiences and more.

  •   Consult with a Doctor: Always consult a doctor before starting a new exercise program.
